Harikatha - Thyagaraja Ramayanam - Live Vol 9

Discourse by Brahmasri T.S.Balakrishna Sastrigal with Sri T.S.Vallesan

The Concept of Thyagaraja Ramayanam is the brain child of Harikatha Legend Brahmasri T.S.Balakrishna Sastrigal. Sathguru Thyagaraja, a divine gem among the Carnatic Music Trinities did not author Ramayanam to be termed as Thyagaraja Ramayanam. But Brahmasri TSB Sastrigal, who soaked himself in the Ocean of Saint Thyagaraja's Kritis, formatted Thyagaraja Ramayanam through in depth analysis and passionate interpretation of these inimitable compositions. The vivid placement of each of Thyagaraja's Kritis at fittingly appropriate and mostly unexpected turn of events in the Epic Ramayanam lifted audience senses to a new horizon. Such soul stirring effects were sensed by His Holiness Jagathguru Kanchi Kamakoti Paramacharyal. Periyavar invited Brahmasri TSB Sastrigal and made him give a glimpse of Thyagaraja Ramayanam before his enthralling presence. Shower of His blessings on the concept and the conceiver left its indelible imprints and could be traced even today

This two MP3 CDs pack is a memorable retrieval from the archives of Brahmasri TSB Sastrigal's 11 days long discourse at Mumbai several decades ago with the melodious co-singing of his brother Sri.T.S.Vallesan.

A True Treasure to be heard, enlivened and preserved.
